Why NUMBER, REAL ESTATE, RIB and TIME Connect
Put PRIME before NUMBER, REAL ESTATE, RIB and TIME to make prime number, prime real estate, prime rib and prime time. This is the purple connection in Connections #1209 on October 2, 2026.
Published
Connections #1209 on 2026-10-02 uses NUMBER, REAL ESTATE, RIB and TIME as the purple group.
The four completed expressions
| Tile | Completed expression | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| NUMBER | Prime number | A whole number greater than 1 with only 1 and itself as positive divisors. |
| REAL ESTATE | Prime real estate | Property in a particularly desirable location or of especially attractive value. |
| RIB | Prime rib | A beef rib roast or a serving cut from it. |
| TIME | Prime time | The main evening period when television networks expect a large audience. |
The tile is TIME, not TIMER. Using the exact printed word gives the familiar expression “prime time.”
Why the entries seem unrelated
Their standalone meanings belong to different topics: mathematics, property, food and time. That variety makes a shared definition difficult to find. The connection comes from completing expressions with a missing first word.
PRIME does not need to mean exactly the same thing in all four expressions. “Prime number” uses a mathematical meaning; the other phrases have their own established uses. The rule is that the same word goes before each tile to form a recognizable expression.
A way to recognize this pattern
When four leftover entries come from very different subjects, test common words that could go before or after them. Check every resulting expression: a phrase that works for only two or three tiles does not finish the group.
